Divergent review on both the book and film! :)

Firstly i am sorry for not posting yesterday i went to my friends georgia's birthday party and i kinda fell asleep as soon as i got home ....... :L

but today i thought i would do a bit of a different post from usual!

I am going to do i divergent book and movie review!

 *spoilers*

So firstly the main plot of the story is based around a girl called Beatrice prior. It is set in a future version of Chicago.

In this city they have to be a part of 1 out of 5 groups, these groups are called factions. 

Amity-  the kind

dauntless - the brave 

Erudite- the smart

Candor- the honest 

Abnegation- the selfless

These factions were created to prevent war from recurring in Chicago and you have to fit in a faction.

However there are people who are divergent these people's minds work in several ways so they can not just be one thing. eg. smart of brave. Therefore they do not fit into one category. 

Beatrice (or tris) is divergent which means she could be killed for not fitting into the faction, it is basically how she learns to survive within the faction that she chooses. 

The book

I highly recommend reading the book series if you haven't already. There are three books Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant. They are not very difficult to read and they are really good series to start if you have lost interest in reading. The book is filled with action aswell as Romance with four. The romance is my favourite part of the book as it is funny aswell as romantic. What i like about the book is that it gets straight into a story and there isn't a massive build up to the initiation day( the choosing of the factions) at the beginning. There are quite a few twist a turns throughout the first book right from the beginning eg. caleb tris's brother. It goes into great detail about tris's time in dauntless however it isn't slow and boring like you would usually expect, it is still full of action and romance. Towards the end of the film tris has to fight against some of her biggest enemies and her love with four is put to the test. 

However ending is left at a bit of a bad cliff hanger as the next book continues the story on.

The movie

To be completely truthful i was slightly disappointed with the film. This is mostly because i have read the books previous to this and the film doesn't show the plot in the same way, if you get meh?

However if i hadn't read the books previous to that i would probably think it is a really good movie, BECAUSE IT IS! I was just a bit disappointed in how they represented it as it was different to the book. Many of my friends have had mixed reviews about it a couple of my friends loved it and some of them said it was ok? The movie was filled with action and the romance between tris and four was still a really significant part in the film. AND OMG THEO JAMES WHO PLAYS FOUR! HE IS MIGHTY FINE CAN I JUST ADD! However they did miss out a few funny lines that tris and four say during the book which i think should have been added in. All of the actors/ actresses played the characters very similarly to how imagined it would be in the book and they were played well ( especially tris and peter)

They only missed out a few scenes in the movie and to be honest some of the scenes that they did miss out weren't that significant and by leaving it out it made the movie flow better. All in all i think that you would enjoy it if you liked the kinda "hunger games" futuristic theme but if you have previously read the books you could be slightly disappointed at the some of the romance scenes in the movie.
